‘New Ways to Kill Your Mother’ is a collection of essays part written and curated by literary heavyweight Colm Tóibin and published by Penguin. The brief was to subvert the dark nature of the title by creating a typographic cover in an elegant and whimsical style. After gaining approval on an initial sketch, I refined the lettering and used bright colours to once again contrast the darker tone of the title. The final book is beautifully printed using a metallic foil applied directly onto a hardback board.
